The Montessori Method was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. Dr. Maria Montessori based what is called "The Montessori Method of Education" on her scientific observations of young children's behavior. Her philosophy of the Montessori method is that a child learns best in an environment that makes the child happy and that encourages each individual's unique development. This way of learning starts early.

Dr. Montessori believed that the first six years of a child's life are of paramont importance; the formative years. The Montessori method encourages learning through the use of the five senses and by using specialized materials.

Montessori is a revolutionary method of observing and supporting the natural development of children. Montessori education helps children develop creativity, problem solving, social, and time-management skills, to contribute to society and the environment, and to become fulfilled persons in their particular time and place on Earth. The basis of Montessori practice in the classroom is respected individual choice of research and work, and uninterrupted concentration rather than group lessons led by an adult.
